Senior year of high school. Always writing!
Although I loved that this project challenged me to explore myself and to dig deep into my past to understand how I learned to write and why I write the way I do, it also proved to be quite a difficult task to look back on my writing history.  It forced me to come face to face with the moments that created who I am as a writer today.  It forced me to realize that many of those moments were times of hardship and stuggle that were difficult for me to re-visit.  I also have always been the type of person to live in the now, often forgetting crucial moments that happened five years ago because I absorb myself completely in the present moment.  My bad memory, paired with my stuggles in writing, made creating this project into a very personal and eye-opening journey for me.  I appreciated that, and it made this project even more meaningful to me that I orginially thought it was going to be.

But on a general note, I know that I'm not the only one who is creating a project like this.  I realize we've all had different and unique experiences growing up that influenced our writing styles.  Our educational experiences, our families, our friends, our daily exposure to different cultures; they're all factors in influencing how we write today.  I know that my personal writing style was very much effected by all of these factors, and I can't express how happy I am that I was exposed to all these different things, whether they were good or bad experiences.  If it weren't for the influence of my teachers, my parents, my friends and others, my writing style would be severely bland and boring!  I appreciate that I have been given moments in my life worth writing about, and I am happy that I have been given a chance to re-visit these moments through this project.  I appreciate writing for what it is:  The documentation of my creativity and the recording of my unique thoughts.  I hope that in the future, my students can have the opportunity to look back on their own history of writing and appreciate their own creativity and thoughts!  I hope you enjoy exploring my autoenthnography as much as I enjoyed creating it!
